FARRO PILAF (Emmer wheat pulao)





This is a very healthy and nutritious dish.


INGREDIENTS

Farro/Emmer wheat--------------1/2 cup
Carrot--------------------------------1 cup,cut in to thin strips
Broccoli florets--------------------1 cup
Garlic powder----------------------a pinch
Butter or olive oil-----------------1/2 tsp
Green chilly------------------------1 large,slit length wise
Rosemary --------------------------to garnish
Salt as needed


METHOD

  1.  Cook emmer wheat/farro in pressure cooker with little salt in it  in the same way you cook rice.
  2. Mean while in a medium heat pan add 1/2 tsp of butter or olive oil and saute carrots,broccoli and green chilly with a pinch of garlic powder and salt in it.Cook the vegetables only 3/4th.Do not over cook it.
  3. Now add the cooked farro to the pan and mix it good.
  4. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with rosemary leaves.
  5. Serve hot and enjoy this healthy pilaf/pulao.
