Boneless,skinless chicken- 1/4 cup , cut in small pieces
Onion------------------------- 1  sliced
Cashews/ Almonds-------10 to 12
Tomato --------------------- 1 large
Garam masala powder-- 1/2 tsp
Ginger Garlic paste-----  1 tbsp
Milk------------------------   1/2 cup
Red chilly powder-------   2tsp
Coriander powder-------   1tsp
Cumin powder--------------- a pinch
Red food colour---------- a pinch (optional)
Butter ---------------------- 2tbsp
Oil--------------------------- 1 tsp

  1. Blend the tomatoes to a puree and keep it aside.
  2. Shallow fry the chicken pieces in a tsp of oil & keep it aside.
  3. In a medium heat pan add a tbsp of butter and saute the onions till golden brown. Roast the cashews in the same pan . Then add the red chill powder and coriander powder. Saute it till the raw smell goes.
  4. Grind this to a smooth paste and keep it aside.
  5. Next, in a medium heat pan, add a tbsp of butter and add cumin powder and  ginger garlic paste. Saute it till a nice aroma comes.Add garam masala powder.
  6. Then add the tomato puree and  ground paste.
  7. Add chicken and needed salt. Cook it for some time.
  8. Next add milk to it and cook.
  9. Check the seasoning and transfer to a serving bowl. This goes excellent with Naan, Chapathi, Rice etc

Shallow fry chicken pieces

Saute the onions to golden brown and also roast the cashews

Boil chicken in milk and ground paste

Served with grilled Naan
